Olathe CTC August Coalition Meeting

The Olathe Communities That Care leadership team met at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday August 13 prior to the coalition meeting that started at 3:30 p.m. in the Governors Conference Room of Olathe City Hall.

At the start of the leadership team meeting, Katie Melton announced that Jamie Katz from the Johnson County Mental Health Center will be taking over as the Olathe CTC's community mobilizer. Melton will remain on the leadership team. Katz took over as community mobilizer effective immediately following the announcement.

The next point of business was a presentation of a communications plan and website drafted for the Olathe CTC by Joe Carney, Communications Intern for the City of Olathe. Carney said that the communications plan and website are designed to increase the community's engagement with the Olathe CTC through a more prominent digital presence.

At the start of the coalition meeting Melton re-announced that Katz would be taking over as community mobilizer.

The last point of business for the meeting was a talk given by Mike Butaud, Olathe Chief of Police. Butaud spoke about his starting point in his law enforcement career, how he moved up the ranks and what his visions are for his new role as chief of police. His speech was followed by a Q&A session between Butaud and the meeting attendees.
